In 2049, marriage comes with a deadline. Every five years, couples must choose: stay or sever.

When a failure to follow protocol at their WALCC ceremony puts CeCe and Marshall at the Council's mercy, they are enrolled in the Marital Alignment Program. For sixty days, they will live with advanced humanoid spouses designed to love without ego, conflict, or limits.

But these humanoids are more than programs. They learn. They feel. And they may understand CeCe and Marshall better than they understand themselves.
